One of the biggest draws to our wedding venue is that we offer both indoor and outdoor ceremony options. After all, one of the first decisions you’ll make as a newly engaged couple centers on the setting of your big day. Aside from location, the second decision couples face is whether to have an outdoor or an indoor ceremony. Both options have their perks and drawbacks. To help you decide, let’s take a closer look at what makes each option desirable.

Vision

The first thing you want to consider when deciding between an outdoor or indoor ceremony is your overall vision for your wedding. Have you always dreamed of saying, “I do” in the fading light of the setting sun or walking down the aisle under gorgeous wooden beams? Taking the time to consider your vision can really go a long way in deciding where your ceremony will take place. An indoor space can easily be dressed up in a more traditional or formal feel where as an outdoor ceremony naturally gives off a more laid back vibe. Keeping your overall vision in mind will help ensure you make the right decision for you.

Logistics

After looking at your wedding dreams, it’s time to set them in reality. Some things you’ll want to consider are the number of guests you’ll be inviting, the time of year you would like to have your wedding, and your location. Depending on where you live, the climate may be your biggest decision maker in choosing an outdoor or indoor ceremony. Most venues, including ours, offer large tent rentals to help ease your worry on the weather and choosing a time of year that offers the best weather conditions will also help. As for your guests, an outdoor ceremony can give you more options for a larger guest count, however an indoor ceremony will give you more control over all the details of your big day including a wider range of available date options.

If you still have trouble choosing between an outdoor or indoor ceremony, you can always split the difference. Have an outdoor ceremony so you can enjoy all the beauty of Mother Nature and then shift indoors for the reception so you, your guests, and your caterers can enjoy all the perks of a climate controlled setting.
